GURA

Gura.jpg
"But thou, O Denial, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
- Adaptation of Daniel 12:4
The Gura take the form of Primates, and for that reason they are associated with dexterity and intelligence. Like the pushing and pulling of the wind, The Gura represent acceptance and denial.

Those who possess the Spirit Type of Gura have the power of incredible speed. Those that have this spirit type will have increased agility and far faster reaction times than the other spirits. The proficient will be able to track scents over further distances, as well as covering ground at twice the speed of others. The Gura are most powerful when caught up in moments of stress or uncertainty, and the more powerful they become, the more neurotic and restless they will be. They may grow hyperactive or may struggle to maintain focus, and often suffer from acute insomnia. At the height of their skills they are able to summon gale-like winds, or to slow time within their immediate surroundings. Over time, the Gura will become prone to debilitating migraine and intense shakiness.

Fairy Tales

The Ancient Tale
                           [Discovered on a note]

"We have but one will and thought," Acceptance said upon his first breath. "Give in to it."

"To you," Denial corrected. "You want my freedom, not my thought." The idea of giving into him felt wrong. Chance dictated that it was a risk. To trust was not in Denial's nature.

"Feel my want; tell me if I lie," Acceptance said. "And if I lie then deliver justice unto me."

Only control was on his mind, Denial was sure. "Ask of me this favour, if you truly want to be one with me."

For long moments they stared into one another's eyes, until finally Acceptance's mouth curled into a smile: long fangs and sharp, curled tongue. "You fool," said he. "To wager with me is as wagering with death. Kneel and you can be forgiven."

"You would force your will upon me? Take my freedom?" From Denial's chest rose up a painful laugh. "Us, one will?" The words grew still more amusing as they struck him with their lies. Strength failed him. To the ground he fell.

"Live with me," Acceptance crooned, "For without me you are nothing." And Denial hurt with the weight of that truth. In his heart there was little doubt, always. "Return my gift of love," Acceptance continued, and opened his arms to Denial. "Your place is here with me."

Freedom was a fool's dream, and Denial was fading - it had been too long, and Denial was not made to last forever.

"Give in," Acceptance whispered into his ear, dipping his fingers into his flesh until they blended together seemlessly, one being tied between two bodies, and repeated again, "Give in..."
