Disclaimer

• This group will contain potentially triggering plotlines or visuals, including graphic gore, psychological horror and sensitive subject material. By joining the group, you are knowingly agreeing to participate in the genres and subjects discussed. Consider this a blanket warning.

• We are strictly against any sexual content of or pertaining to any characters involved in OS. We will not respond kindly to anyone sexualising any OS characters, either through art, roleplays or discussion. Anyone found having participated in this, whether in public areas or private messages, will be immediately removed from the group, and their character will be  reclaimed and/or culled for plot purposes.

Basics

• We will not be accepting members either for the Observer or Protagonist role that are below the age of 16. This is not to discriminate, but to ensure that everyone involved is, to the best of our abilities, known to be mature enough to understand and cope with the graphic themes shown and discussed. We reserve the right not to accept anyone that we feel may struggle with the upcoming content.

• All members must have, or be willing to create, a Discord account. A lot of the big announcements and time-sensitive information will be released on the official group server only.

• Protagonist membership slots in OS have already been filled. There was only one opening for applications before the group began. However, the Observer role is open and can be joined at any time.

• Activity is not only encouraged, it is vital to the success of your character. With it your cat will earn experience points, stat boosts, levels and tokens. Experience points will earn new perks, levels will earn new powers and skills, bumping stats will make your character’s survival that much more likely, and tokens will allow you to use the group store.

• Observers also have activities where they can earn unique items and points that can be spent in the Observer shop.

• Join in with events during the down-time! Seasonal contests, competitions and random events may offer you (and your character) the chance to increase your point count far faster than other means and will focus on bringing the community closer together, though participation is entirely optional. Find more information on contests, and competitions in the Directory!

Out of Character

• Our number one rule is just to be kind. As the saying goes, treat people as you would like to be treated.

• Any discriminatory talk will go heavily punished. We don't accept slurs against race, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexuality. In short, if you're being a wiener, expect to be treated like one.

• Help us keep things clean. If you have a problem or questions, then message #questions channel in the official Discord channel. Do not message the founder or co-founder privately, either on deviantArt or through dms, without permission. Please respect this. 

• Our Sanctuary will not tolerate drama of any kind. This is a mature group and we therefore expect our members to be mature too. Do not bring outside drama into the group, and do not post anything knowingly inflammatory in public areas during the group’s run-time - this includes messages in DA comments, group servers, gallery uploads or journals. Persistent stirring will result in a warning - if it continues after your initial warning, you can expect to be removed from OS entirely, and for your character to be reclaimed and/or culled for plot purposes. You will not gain a second chance.

• We’re here to help. If you have a problem with another member, reach out to the group and we will do our best to help those involved talk it out and find a reasonable solution.

• So to reiterate: treat not only the founder/co-founder with respect; treat everyone with respect. We’re a community.
   

In Character

• Godmodding and Powerplaying are a huge no-no. Don't write your character as if they are omniscient or omnipotent, and do not control another player’s character without explicit permission from the other roleplayer.

• OS is aimed towards advanced and literate roleplayers. We expect submitted posts to be fully checked for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. Although mistakes are fine, we do expect all writing to be legible.

• Remember that the site runs in real-time - meaning that you can only start and join any posts with those in your current party, and not with those outside of it. Once parties split or change, you will no longer be able to interact with the cats from your previous grouping, and so we encourage people to have character interactions as they go.

• Get your character involved! Feel free to join all roleplays on the main Discord channel or official group Docs (outside of the official Nine Chapter Docs), provided that your character is in the same location as the others involved. Roleplaying in private is fine too! As long as you guys are enjoying yourselves and uploading the finished posts to dA when needed for deadlines (e.g. stage, random event or competition submissions), we don’t mind how you go about it!

Roleplaying 1 on 1

• For a Roleplay to count for Tokens, or be considered officially canon in the OS world, a link to the Google doc with the  Roleplay must be submitted to the ‘Roleplaying Documents’ channel on the Discord Server.

  • ​Before it can be submitted, the document must have a total of at least 5 posts.

  • Posts must be a minimum of 300 words

• These roleplays can include no more than three characters. If you wish to write in a bigger group then it must be done in one of the open Group Roleplaying Spaces provided.

• Before you message anyone asking for a Roleplay, you must check the ‘Roleplaying Status’ channel and find the person’s post. This will tell you if they are open or closed to new Roleplays, if they are closed then do not DM them.

• You cannot earn EXP through 1 on 1 Roleplays, and any rolls performed are agreed upon by you and the other person, not the administrators.
